My name is Sanjib Gurung. I am pursuing Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at the University of South Florida (USF), Tampa Campus under the supervision of Dr. David W. Murphy. I am from Pokhara, Nepal. I work as a Graduate Research Assistant at the Murphy Lab, USF and conduct experimental research in fluid mechanics. Also, I am working as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, USF. I have been assisting students taking the EML4106C Thermal Systems course. Similarly, I am currently working on projects like studying the effect of oil spills on the cardiovascular health of exposed fish embryos and the significance of wind driven turbulence phenomena called Langmuir circulation on pollutant dispersion and distribution of biological species in water. My research field is in the intersection of engineering, biology and the environment and is highly collaborative. In addition, I am acquainted with research tools like high-speed cameras, lasers and optics, image processing, particle image velocimetry and many more to study fluid behaviors. For me, every day presents a new challenge and I am busy tackling it. Apart from my studies and work, I like sports, gym, photography, music and momos.
